JOURNEYS OF DISTINCTION

We turn amazing experiences into lifelong memories

Every journey tells a story, but at Africa Memories, we believe yours should be truly unforgettable. We specialise in tailor-made travel across Rwanda, Uganda and northern Tanzania, designing experiences that go far beyond the ordinary. Here, adventure is balanced with ease, wildlife encounters with cultural immersion, and iconic sights with hidden gems. Imagine trekking through misty forests to find mountain gorillas, gliding silently past hippos on a river at sunset, or standing beneath a waterfall that thunders with the power of nature. Every moment is crafted to inspire awe, connection and discovery.

What sets us apart is our approach. We listen to your passions, priorities and pace, then craft journeys entirely from scratch, rather than working from a template. Your trip is personal, seamless and meaningful. It isn’t just a holiday, it’s a collection of memories that linger long after the journey ends. With Africa Memories, you travel with purpose, depth and joy at every step.

Passion behind every journey

Behind every great journey is a story worth telling. Africa Memories began with the vision of our founders, Uwase “Annie” Anuarite and Yves Munana, whose roots run deep in East Africa. From childhood adventures in Rwanda’s rolling hills to exploring Uganda’s lush forests and Tanzania's savannahs, they developed an intimate knowledge and profound love for this remarkable region.

Their mission was clear: to create travel experiences that reflect the richness of East Africa while celebrating its people, wildlife and culture. They wanted travellers to encounter the landscapes in a way that feels personal and authentic, to meet the communities that sustain them, and to witness conservation efforts that make a lasting difference.

Making travel effortless

Travelling in East Africa can feel complex. Permits, transfers, park logistics, guiding, accommodation, activity bookings and cross-border arrangements all need careful planning. That is where Africa Memories comes in.

We remove the stress and manage every detail so you can focus on what matters: the experience. From custom itineraries to trade ready support, our services are designed to suit every type of traveller. Our team arranges expert guiding, seamless transfers, permits, specialised excursions, cultural experiences, conservation visits and much more.

Every element is handled with care and professionalism, allowing your journey to unfold naturally, smoothly and memorably. Whether you are travelling independently or as part of a group, our goal is simple: make your trip effortless, enriching and utterly personal.

The land of a thousand hills and more...

Small in size but vast in experience, Rwanda captivates travellers with its dramatic landscapes, rich wildlife, vibrant culture and welcoming people. From the mist-cloaked slopes of Volcanoes National Park to the rolling hills by Lake Kivu, every corner offers a new perspective, a new story.

Visitors can trek to meet mountain gorillas, wander the dense rainforest of Nyungwe, enjoy open savannah game drives in Akagera or explore lakeside villages and tea plantations. Beyond the scenery and wildlife, Rwanda’s communities invite you to connect, whether through cultural performances, visits to local markets or learning about conservation initiatives firsthand. It is a country that rewards curiosity, presence and a willingness to look beyond the obvious.

"Annie is an incredible guide. She views her country with the eye of a journalist, operating with empathy, curiosity and connection at every step. I travelled with her while on assignment and she opened my eyes to so many layers of Rwandan society, offering me connections to people I would never have been able to find otherwise. In her company, I was surprised, delighted and inspired. I recommend her services to anyone looking to dig deeper into a beautiful and complex country and make unforgettable memories."
